i’ve posted this before, but let me do it again.

no, this time around, i’m not doing this for mayer, but for that guy on the left-most portion  (it’s actually the inside flap of the cover).

that’s kirk hammett of Metallica.

a little tidbit: his mom is a Filipina, his dad, Irish-American. and while he was born in San Francisco, he still has the Filipino in him, like being able to speak Tagalog (our language) and eat Filipino food.

but one thing that struck me about the guy is that, not only is he a viable member of one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time, but he has also been through a lot, had his fair share of personal demons. and amidst the trials, he succeeded in conquering his battles.

in 2003, rolling stone magazine has named him one of the “100 greatest guitarist of all time“, and for this year, he is part of a line-up of great guitarists, like bb king and jimmy page, in the magazine’s homage to the “100 greatest guitar songs of all time“.

this dude has really made it.
