as part of the celebration of the world cancer day, project brave kids mounted a very emotional event in the philippine children’s medical center.
people were encouraged to light 3,500 tea candles at the quadrangle to symbolize unity in the fight against cancer. what made it a very special moment was seeing not just the volunteers lighting it up, but also seeing parents, doctors, nurses, hospital workers and the children afflicted with cancer taking part and working at their best to keep the flame alive.
folk singer noel cabangon, a fellow volunteer, added to the mood, with just him and his guitar. he has just earned a fan in me.
