this pinched my heart

john posted a blog from japan (where he is currently), and i believe the man is reflecting on life, away from the limelight. this is my favorite post to date because even i could feel what he is going through, leaving me pondering about my own experience of being really, honestly, no BS happy. (have i really experienced it? not sure)

this makes him more real to you and me. a person who lives and breathes the same air as we do, who is also part of a race for self-actualization, who is as involved as us in this chaos called the REAL WORLD, who also, once in a while, takes time out to find himself again and who would as well feel blessed for having a moment of sheer happiness.

he may be a rock star, but he is, after all, human… just like all of us.

A Pure Moment

March 15, 2008

When was the last time you had a truly pure moment? The simple order of you, the enjoyment, the happiness, the end.

Without that nagging arithmetic of what the moment must look like to others, what it might read like tomorrow, and if it bears any significance in the long term…

When was the last time you heard the voice in your head over all the noise?

Simple happiness is at a premium… and I can’t think of anything more valuable I want to own right now…

Self consciousness is toxic… And it’s everywhere…

I have not learned anything from fame and success that I wouldn’t have wanted life to teach me without it…

From Kyoto, in the rain…

i was actually contemplating on putting something witty in this blog of mine, but i decided not to because i think his entry deserves to be left just as it is — very heartfelt.
