Fantastic live phone-patched performance

Finally found a YouTube video which has Jeff Buckley‘s phone performance of Bob Dylan‘s “I Shall Be Released” as its music bed —  I mentioned about this in one of my past entries.

It happened in 1992, when Nick Hill, the DJ who hosted WFMU‘s Music Faucet show, called him up and asked him to sing a song while the studio guests accompanied him.

This is musically historic, believe me.

The song, once part of the bootleg world, was commercially released in 2007 via the album, “For New Orleans: A Benefit For The Musicians’ Village Habitat For Humanity“.
